The Stute
The story of Oakdale working men’s institute as the cultural hub of a Valley’s mining community. Winner First Light Award for best film by over 13s; nominated for a BAFTA Cymru. Made with young people aged 13-17.
The Search for Sinta
An Indonesian myth combing gamelan music with imagery from the Ramayana. Made with young people from St Teilos Church in Wales school. Winner of a Tate Modern Artworks Award.
Bob Apple
Made with Cardiff Young People First, the film won the award for Best Animation by 20-25 year olds at the film Nation Awards in London. Funded by First Light, Bob Apple was made by a group of young people with learning difficulties.
Romance in the Air
An animated film made for S4C following the romantic fantasies of a number of characters as they pass one another on an old fashioned chair-lift. Shown at the London Film Festival and nominated for a BAFTA Cymru for best animation.
